YES, TIS TRUE! I have finally returned!


As I had mentioned in the past, I was unable to update because, in the switch from to , I lost the ability to make borders around my photos. Now, don't get me wrong - I went from some halfway-decent program that comes with XP to Aperture, and I REGRET IT NOT. However, many years ago, someone commented on one of my pictures and said that I should put borders around them because it made it look more professional, and just generally better. I tried it, and it turned out they were right - so from then on, I vowed ne'er again to upload without borders!

Which...made the last year (YEAR?! Wow...) devArtless.

But now I'm back! From outerspace! And I walk in to find you all with this kind of look upon your face: You must be wondering, "BUT MADISON/JACK! HOW EVER DID YOU MANAGE GET THE BORDERS BACK? Did you evolve? Did you go into a radiation chamber and gain SUPER POWERS that make you able to add borders to ANY OBJECT? And if so, can you add a border to ME?" The answer, my friends, is blowing in the wind...of the WEB! Guys! Let me introduce you to...

PICNIK!

I am not being paid to plug them or anything, but this site roxxors my . You can upload photos and edit them with the greatest of ease - and they have a really excellent bordering system. I have used a lot in my time, and these guys got it just right. They also have a lot of fun editing effects - all the ones you've seen before ("sketch", "emboss", "sepia tone", etc.), but also a lot of REALLY excellent ones that I will be playing around with shortly (my fav so far is "focal B&W"). Not ONLY are they cool, but they actually LOOK good, which is really quite rare with editing programs.

I looked at a LOT of sites like this before finally choosing Picnik; I was having trouble with my colors being faded when I uploaded them, but then I started using .PNGs instead of .JPGs, and the problem went away BUT BEFORE THAT, I thought it was the site. Anyway, out of all of them, Picnik is the easiest to use and has the best layout and is just generally really pleasant. HUZZAH.

(it really DOES sound like they paid me, doesn't it...)
